The Holidays have been among us at Starbucks since November. Peppermint mocha, Chestnut Praline, and Caramel Brûlée have been the main collection of drinks in addition to their Holiday brew.
My favorite has been the Chestnut Praline. It has the right amount of sweet and tart, and of course, caffeine. Sometimes, I spike it with an extra shot when I really need a kick.
The Peppermint is nice as the mint has that refreshing feel with the depth of the chocolate.
The Gingerbread latte has teetered in and out, depending on the store, and I am not a fan. It tastes so gritty and a lot like cardboard.
Ugly Sweater frappe was different to say the least. It started with a hazelnut frappuccino for the base, with candied fruit added to the mix. It was topped with whipped cream, and drizzled with caramel and matcha tea powder. The hazelnut frappuccino was great! Not too sweet but just right. I was used to the candied fruits since I love bubble tea with tapioca. It did get laborious to drink since it took so much effort to suck and chew the fruits. And when drinking coffee, I prefer to have continuous fluid moving from the cup to my mouth. The matcha wasn’t a very good choice, but then again, I’ve never been a fan of their matcha line anyway.
The new Tuxedo drink is pretty nifty. I don’t recall what the base for the frappuccino was, but it wasn’t very flavorful. The topping though (whipped cream, half covered in chocolate and the other with chocolate chips) was very rich!
