The locals on Maui know that the best place to get your fix of dry mein is at Sam Sato’s restaurant. Sam Sato’s is located at 1750 Wili Pa Loop, in Wailuku, and are open from Monday through Saturday from 7 am – 2 pm.
Sam Sato’s , a mom-and-pop restaurant has been a part of Maui’s history (since 1933), initially serving the people of the sugar plantation area of Spreckelsville, (between Kahului and Pa’ia). Their signature item is their dry mein which includes dry style noodles, char-siu pork, bean sprouts, and green onions, in addition to a cup of dashi on the side. Other menu items include hamburgers, BBQ beef stick, mochiko chicken, and their popular manju.
